Venting, Wow, found out just how indoctrinated my wife is
by goingthruthemotions injust had to share this, tonight we had a heated conversation about the religion.
she said everything they teach is 100% true and any mistakes are cleaned up and corrected, that the payouts for the child abuse is not an issue even if its taken from donations.
because, she believe 100% the org knows what its doing.

I've come to a conclusion that if my mom had been in Germany under Hitler, she would have proudly turned in Jews and Bible students. She is all about looking for some kind of authority to follow and getting praise from it.
Unless it involves hamburgers. That is her weakness. If I really wanted to work at getting her out (which I am not because she is 83 years old and doesn't want to know) I would ply her with hamburgers and go to exotic restaurants that had cheap deals.

I hated it. I felt embarrassed and stressed out. The one time I mustered up enough will power to offer the magazines, a man took them. Finally! I felt that I had really done something for once.
Returned and the man kindly said, that he had only taken them because I was a kid.
Crushed. Embarrassed.
If I was fortunate, I got to stay in the car for return visits. Even if I baked or was bored, it was better than having to listen to a lecture on bible teachings.

If the Catholic church shows it can't be under God's approval because of hiding child sexual abuse, what will be your response when the WT is exposed to have been doing the same thing?

Notes I drafted for a local JW at a cart
by Doug Mason inin recent weeks, a grizzled old man, obviously harmless, has been engaging with a nice lady as she regularly stands by her cart displaying watchtower material.. on monday, she eagerly wanted to know what this old man thought of the book she gave him, "what does the bible really teach?".
when this old man posed some questions, she was very keen for him to write them down.. she also promised to provide facts that earthquakes proved we are living in the last days.. anyway, to make a short story longer, the old man drafted questions and observations on the topics that were covered.. would you please criticise the stuff that this old man has drafted for his next encounter.
any help, anything at all, is most keenly looked for.

So far, a harmless old man has had a chat with a JW. Handing her this will trip all of the security devices that the WT has implanted in her mind and instead of a nice old man, an apostate bogeyman will appear.
If you don't mind the long game, just one or two questions combined with a puzzled look, will probably go farther.
But it's your planned assault of the WT's mine mazed lady so go as you will.

'Warped' Jehovah's Witness bombarded estranged wife with disturbing messages
by Tahoe inhttps://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/warped-jehovahs-witness-bombarded-estranged-15205705.
an obsessive and controlling husband has been jailed for stalking his estranged wife.. a crown court judge told mark perry - a devout jehovah's witness - that he had a warped mind and sought to justify his behaviour on the basis of his religious beliefs.. .
mold crown court heard he faked a message from the police telling his wife to go to rhyl police station to identify his own body.

Really hard to get away from a person like that. They just remain obsessive. He might even one day rationalize that killing her would "save" her. Hope she can disappear off his radar.

Is attendance down in your location too?
by StarryNight9 ini was commenting on another thread about how local kh attendance is down.
memorial attendance was also way down and the circuit assembly had hundreds less people than what is typical.
my jw family has even mentioned it.

I grew up in a hall that eventually split into two. I remember when I was a kid, that were quite a few interested people that would come in on Sundays. The last few years only saw a few bible studies that hung on for years but never got baptized. The small 2 day assemblies baptisms started to become a little bit smaller along with the diversity of age.
The society used to say the shuffling of who attended what assembly, was to "widen out" our association of brothers. But it makes more sense that they didn't want us to know that attendance was changing.
The only time I see witnesses on my street is on saturdays ( and that is few and far in between) and they are from the spanish congregation. Walking sooooo slooooow as they go to one house or so on the street that is marked for them.
Can't say what else is going on with them recently.

Humans only survive for 3-5 days without water...
by purrpurr inand yet today's watchtower and indeed the bible condemns the israelites for moaning about having no water!
it's never occurred to me how unjust this is!
and how could a so called loving god not provide a basic human need?!.

Perry - So god used Pharaoh to build trust in the Israelites. If the Israelites weren't so stubborn and non trusting, Pharaoh wouldn't have suffered all of the plagues. So it was israelites fault that the servants and animals of pharaoh as well as the firstborns, died. Makes sense.
Just for fun

purrpurr - Oh and this stupid thing of Moses's word choice of "we" rather than say "god" seriously! ? One word slip in the heat of the moment was enough to ban him from the promised land? After he had done so much and been through so much for his god and his god disowns him after one slip up!
This is one of the reasons that JW's today, have a fear that all it would take is one mistake and they would be dead forever. My Jw coworker is very afraid that it will happen to her. I even thought that and I've heard others express it too. Yet, Hitler will be resurrected and all sorts of bad people that did whatever they wanted. That always bothered me.
Perry - It took a lot of work on God's part to secure their release. Even then, it was not enough....blood had to be spilled to experience freedom. Freedom isn't free.
Please, it took a lot of work? It isn't like god was a human and had to bribe people under the table or mastermind a coup. He didn't even have to do the ten plagues to prove that he was "better" than the gods of Egypt. After making the universe and life on earth, God could have simply made the Egyptians unable to move while the Israelites walked out. Bam. Shouldn't have God taken the high road and done it without bloodshed? Not only Egyptians were killed but animals too. But I guess a God that kills all the humans on earth with a flood with all of the poor animals, has to stick with his MO.
